The SweatShop is the Home of Old School Bodybuilding in Lincoln. in 1965 Roy Cox purchased a property on Waterloo Street which soon become a home for Old School Bodybuilding in England in the Late 60s eventually the property was sold in 1980.

The equipment was then moved to a second floor above a Nightclub which Roy Cox owned. He turned the second floor into a private gym for himself and a few of his friends who was still competing at the time. Once he decided to no longer compete he moved some of the equipment into his house, that equipment is still what we use to this day at the sweatshop gym along with some new additions.

 

Roy throughout his career was a fierce competitor and coach, he coached his daughter Samantha to obtaining 8 Trophies as a Bikini Competitor. Roy himself has competed in some of the biggest shows in the UK including the Mr Universe. Roy has 18 trophies to his name throughout his career including winning the Mr Britain title in 1994.

 

Once he retired from Bodybuilding he remained a fan and still to this day follows the sport. Roy has passed on his knowledge through the generations. his grandson, Red has learnt all the old school fundamentals from spending years learning from Roy he has also studied the sport and is constantly learning and evolving applying the old school knowledge with the new.
